Liposuction (Lipoplasty) Baton Rouge
Are you just an inch or two away from your ideal figure? Do you have just a bit of extra bulk around your thighs or upper arms that you can’t seem to get rid of? Targeting specific areas of fat can be an incredibly difficult thing to do using traditional methods of fat reduction like dieting and exercise.
However, that doesn’t mean you have to let that stubborn fat prevent you from attaining your ideal body. Liposuction is an excellent choice for targeting stubborn fat in areas all around the body.
While liposuction is not intended for massive fat reduction, it is perfect for eliminating precise amounts of fat to create attractive contours and enhance the tone of specific areas of the body.
Liposuction can be performed in various areas, including:
- Upper arms
Is Liposuction Right for Me?
Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion – and ultimately enhancing your self-image. Despite good health and a reasonable level of fitness, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness.
While liposuction may be a good solution for individuals who are close to their ideal body weight, it is important to know that this is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for a proper diet, exercise, or weight-loss surgery. It can be an excellent choice for providing the finishing touches to your body once you have lost a lot of weight but still have small deposits of stubborn fat left over.
It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite, the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks, or loose, sagging skin. If loose skin and cellulite are issues you are trying to address, talk to Dr. Dean so that he can recommend a procedure that will provide you with your desired results.
What to Expect from Your Liposuction
There are various forms of liposuction that utilize different technology to make the process easier or more effective. The most common form of liposuction involves the use of a thin hollow tube known as a cannula. A special tumescent fluid is injected into the body to reduce bleeding, minimize discomfort, and reduce swelling.
Once the tumescent fluid is injected into the area, the cannula is inserted into the body. Dr. Dean will then manipulate the cannula to scrape and loosen the fat from the surrounding tissues. Once the fat cells have been loosened, the fat cells and tumescent fluid are sucked up through the cannula and out of the body.
