Conveniently located to serve Baton Rouge
Also known as a mastopexy, a breast lift in Baton Rouge raises and firms the breasts. It achieves this by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour.
Loss of skin elasticity, gravity and other factors such as weight loss, pregnancy and breast-feeding ultimately affect breast shape and firmness.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift?
Patients who are generally satisfied with the size of their breasts can have a breast lift to raise and firm them, resulting in a more youthful breast contour. Ideal mastopexy candidates are in overall good health and have realistic expectations. Mastopexy can be combined with breast implants if there is inadequate volume. This combination procedure is often called augmentation mastopexy or a breast lift with implants.
On the day of the surgery, Dr. Dean will mark the area where the reshaped areolae and nipples will be repositioned to. General anesthesia will be administered before the beginning of the operation.
Dr. Dean will then create the incisions. The incision pattern will depend on the amount of tissue to be removed. A donut incision can be used to remove a minor to moderate amount of tissue. A lollipop incision is ideal for moderate tissue removal. Sometimes the incisions can be limited to around the nipple and in the crease. Occasionally an anchor type incision is required.
After this, Dr. Dean will reshape and lift the breast tissues. Dr. Dean will remove extra skin from the breast to achieve the desired result. The final step of the procedure involves closing the incisions with surgical sutures.
The Recovery Process After a Breast Lift
After a breast lift, medications will be prescribed to relieve any pain or discomfort during recovery. Dr. Dean may also recommend using cold compresses to address soreness and swelling.
For the first few weeks, you will have to refrain from performing heavy tasks and putting pressure on your breasts. This means you will have to sleep on your back with extra pillows for supporting your breasts in an upright position. You will also have to wear supportive surgical bras for a few weeks.
You will need to meet with Dr. Dean for follow-up appointments during the healing process. During these, he will ensure that healing is going as expected and that no complications have occurred.
The total recovery time for a breast lift is one or two weeks. Patients are likely to see the full results within three to six weeks after the date of surgery.
Breast Lift Cost
The details of each patient’s mastopexy procedure are considered when determining breast lift cost. Anesthesia costs also impact the overall price, as do the techniques utilized, the amount of tissue removed, and the total surgical time.
